Constitutional convention of 1847 papers, 1847.

Files contain convention minutes, resolutions and reports with amendments submitted by committees, and petitions from citizens' groups concerning the inclusion or exclusion of certain provisions (e.g., prohibition of slavery; capital punishment). Also included are clerk of the county commissioners court reports to the Auditor of Public Accounts concerning annual revenues, disbursements and annual county treasury balance (1839-1846). Accompanying these reports is the Auditor of Public Accounts report showing state revenues collected annually from each county (1839-1846). Copies of the Constitution of 1818 also are included.
